Grams Update

If you will remember this post, I showed you a WIP that had a terrible palette.

I worked on it a bit and I’ve decided to scrap it.

I think it looks better now, but it’s not the direction I want it to go. Perhaps when I start over I will continue to work on this one to see which I prefer.

Cadmium Red, Windsor Yellow, and Cobalt blue may look like a bright palette, however, it turns into a dead palette.

I believe I will be changing this color palette to French Ultra Marine, New Gambouge, Permanent Alizarin Crimson.

This is the final version of my Thai girl painting. The post for that is here, but here’s the image.

I am very sick of this painting right now. I just spent the majority of the last three days working on this. From the time I got up to the time I went to bed, this little girl was all I saw. I plan on finishing my next two paintings by Thursday and then starting two or three more before the show. If I keep working at this schedule I might finish them all.

This painting, along with my self portrait titled “This Too Shall Pass” will be my submission for this year’s Illinois Watercolor Society. Any critique would be much appreciated.
